BIOGRAPHY

Harout was born to an Armenian family in Aleppo, Syria, where he graduated from the State Musical Conservatory of Aleppo, specializing in Classic Guitar and Music Composition.

​

Upon migrating to New York, Harout studied audio engineering and production at IAR, which is considered to be the world’s first Audio school and has garnered Grammy, Emmy and Tony awards winning artists. He has also taken master classes in film scoring by the world renowned film composer, Hans Zimmer.


Harout is also an actor, writer and director, working on multiple theatrical productions, as well as short films. In 2009, he made his debut with TCA Mher Megerdchian Theatrical Group, and continues to be a key member as one of their leading actors, who takes on major roles, such as the role of “Soghomon Tehlirian” in the acclaimed play “All Rise, The Court is in Session”. Harout also serves as the group's technical and musical advisor and scores original music for their plays as well.

 

In 2010, Harout founded Huyser Music Ensemble, and currently serves as the group's artistic director.

Coming from such a diverse background, Harout has a very unique interest in instruments. He can't help but keep exploring, learning and proficiently playing multiple instruments.

​

When you're unable to express your emotions through your words, you can recreate them through sound. It is after all, the best outlet for people's emotions.
